Alexei Aigui & Ensemble 4'33" (Алексей Айги и Ансамбль 4'33")

On 16 November at 17:00 at the Anglican Church of St Saviour, musician and composer Alexei Aigui will present his new project Les Cordes Sensibles. This concert is the first appearance in Riga in recent years of the French composer and violinist Alexei Aigui with his new project Les Cordes Sensibles, a collaboration with Estonian classical music performers who will present the programme in Riga after their performance in Tallinn. Les Cordes Sensibles is a chamber project in which Aigui plays with a string trio and a guest double bass, with the solo violin adding an element of freedom to the harshness of neoclassical music. Each performance becomes unique thanks to live improvisation and an original compositional form that combines minimalism and the avant-garde. The concert will be a unique opportunity for the Riga audience to witness a musical collaboration in which Aigui will be joined on stage by renowned Estonian musicians Merlin Porkma on violin, Anna Mäekivi on viola, Ruslan Petrov on cello, who form the permanent ensemble Trio Lummus, as well as double bassist Anton Hannes. Alexey Aigui performed in Riga more than 10 years ago and, together with Ināra Kolmane, he has worked on several special projects for the ARTE television channel.
